Hedda Gabler

A Salisbury Playhouse Production
17 March - 2 April 2016 Main House
Hedda Gabler

'Gareth Machin's fine production... a bracingly intelligent revival'  ★★★★ Michael Billington, The Guardian

★★★★ The Stage

'A brilliant production, stunningly performed'  Fine Times Recorder

'Potent, powerful and seductive'  Western Daily Press

'Enthralling entertainment'  Wiltshire Gazette & Herald

Newly married and returning from her honeymoon, the free-spirited Hedda already feels trapped by both her marriage and life. Feeling captive in her own home, she soon begins to manipulate those around her, with shocking consequences.

Played out over 24 hours, Brian Friel’s adaptation of Ibsen’s startling play is both unexpectedly funny and deeply human as it hurtles towards its destructive conclusion.

We asked actor Damian Humbley a few questions about rehearsing for Henrik Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler.
