“Loads of delicious dramatic irony”
Southern Daily Echo

“Intensely performed”
Fine Times Recorder

“This thought-provoking play is a web of interlinked betrayals”
Southern Daily Echo

Jerry is a literary agent; Emma runs an art gallery; Robert is a publisher. Emma and Robert are married and Jerry is Robert’s best friend, but Emma and Jerry have a seven-year affair and Robert has secrets of his own.

Harold Pinter’s clever and witty portrayal of deception and desire was inspired, in part, by the writer’s affair with BBC presenter Joan Bakewell. The original production won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play.

“Diamond-sharp writing and dramatic cunning”
Sunday Telegraph (on a previous production)
