Salisbury Playhouse Young Ambassadors is open to any young person aged 14-21 and meets monthly to discuss how Salisbury Playhouse can be made more relevant and exciting for the Young People of the local community.
The Young Ambassadors will advocate for the theatre and will be responsible for communicating the exciting work done here at Salisbury Playhouse to the Young People in the local area. This is the ideal opportunity for anyone interested in a career in professional theatre and will look fantastic on a CV or UCAS application; it would also be a great addition to any Arts Award projects you might be undertaking.
Young Ambassadors meet monthly (later in the year bi-monthly) for meetings to discuss ideas and create ways in which Salisbury Playhouse can engage with young people in the local community. They also meet professional members of staff and engage in a variety of different activities within the building.
Last year, the Young Ambassadors conducted a survey with over 100 young people from the local community to evaluate Salisbury Playhouse’s reputation amongst young people. They then met with Salisbury Playhouse’s Board of Trustees to discuss their findings and propose a series of ideas as to how the Playhouse could improve its engagement with young people.
This year, the Young Ambassadors will be tasked with implementing these ideas with the aid of professional members of staff.
Members will also be invited to VIP and Press nights for performances here at Salisbury Playhouse.
If you are interested in joining, please complete both forms and return to Dave Orme, Youth Theatre Director before the 30 September.
