Arts Award for Young People
Arts Award is...
• A great way for young people to be inspired by and enjoy the arts
• A framework for learning new skills and sharing them
• An opportunity to develop creativity and leadership skills
• A link between young people and creative arts professionals
Arts Award is a range of unique qualifications that support anyone up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through taking challenges in an art form.
Through Arts Award young people gain a nationally recognised qualification enabling them to progress into further education and employment. Arts Award has five levels, four of which (Explore, Bronze, Silver, Gold) are on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
You set yourself arts challenges, and keep track of your own progress in your Arts Award portfolio (which could be recorded in any format – from a scrapbook to a website!).
If you’d like to find out more about the Award you might look at www.artsaward.org.uk, or call us with your questions.
The cost of doing an Arts Award covers your booklet, badge, moderation and adviser meetings, and depends on the level you complete (Silver and Gold Awards cost more because they involve more one-on-one adviser time and because the materials and moderation costs are higher).
Drop in sessions are run here at Salisbury Playhouse, giving you the opportunity to come in and meet with an adviser who will help you with your progress.
Salisbury Playhouse has worked hard to keep the cost of Arts Award affordable, so we have not put prices up this year.
