PRINT DISTRIBUTION VOLUNTEERS
Help us spread the word about Salisbury Playhouse
We want as many people as possible to be aware of productions and activities at Salisbury Playhouse. The Marketing Department is a small team and we rely on many people to support our work. As part of a pilot project for Autumn 2013 we are looking for reliable, organised and enthusiastic volunteers able to collect print from the theatre and distribute it in and around their local area (we are starting with Blandford, Devizes, Shaftesbury and Wilton but may expand this in the future). It is really important that you are reliable, able to respond promptly and able to commit to the pilot project for 6 months from August 2013 so please think carefully about whether you can spare the time on a regular basis before contacting us.
We have a growing band of Volunteer Ushers who help to deliver the highest standards of customer care and safety whilst enjoying the general atmosphere of our theatre.
The ushers play an integral role in the front of house operation at the theatre. The main duties involve checking tickets, selling ice creams, programmes, clearing up the auditorium at the end of the show and providing friendly and helpful customer service. The evening shifts tend to last between 3 and 4 hours depending on the length of the show. The part the ushers play in the evacuation procedure is the most important aspect of the role. The usher team is made up of people of all ages and from all walks of life and only a minimum of training is required.
