The Design Unit announced as winners of the Salisbury Playhouse Autumn/Winter Show Business Draw.
Salisbury Playhouse is delighted to announce The Design Unit as the winners of Show Business. The draw was made on Thursday 10 May by Artistic Director Gareth Machin on the set of the Playhouse’s current production, Epsom Downs (2 – 26 May).
The Design Unit are a multi-disciplinary branding and design consultancy based in Wimborne, Dorset. They have worked with the Playhouse for the last four years and this was their third time entering Show Business.
This was the 4th round of the Show Business scheme, which was started in Summer 2010 by Salisbury Playhouse’s Development Director, Kirstie Mathieson. The scheme offers 28 local businesses the chance to win a full show sponsorship for a fraction of the cost. By entering a draw for just £250, the Playhouse gave companies a 1 in 28 chance of winning a full show sponsorship package worth £7,000.
Kirstie Mathieson, Development Director at Salisbury Playhouse said:
“I am thrilled that The Design Unit have won. This is the third time they have entered the draw so it really is a case of third time lucky! We very much look forward to working Jason over the next few months on the partnership.”
Jason Holderness, Managing Director at The Design Unit said:
“The Design Unit is excited to have the good fortune and opportunity of increasing its involvement with Salisbury Playhouse over the forthcoming season.
Winning the Show Business Sponsorship Scheme, is a fantastic opportunity to show our support for the Playhouse, and for The Design Unit to reach a larger audience.
We have been designing the theatre's Season brochure and publicity material for the past four years — helping the Playhouse's brand develop and strengthen over the recent years has been both enjoyable and rewarding. We are looking forward to the season ahead!”

A free full–page advertisement in the show’s programme. Complimentary tickets for the sponsored show and a PR package tailored to the company’s needs.
The other 27 companies get their names in the spotlight too. They are featured in the Season Brochure and the programme of the sponsored show. Links to the participating company’s websites are also featured on the Playhouse website, and each company receives up to 6 pairs of tickets for the sponsored show.

Salisbury Playhouse is thrilled to announce an exclusive and unique opportunity of supporting the theatre whilst seeing how a Salisbury Playhouse production comes to life from ‘Page to Stage’.
The Director’s Circle is a new initiative that will give members an insight as to how our productions come together via a series of invitations to private briefings with the Director, cast and creative teams as well as opportunities to attend a technical and dress rehearsal. Our inaugural Director’s Circle will follow our Artistic Director, Gareth Machin, on his directorial debut at Salisbury Playhouse on his production of Epsom Downs.
