Theatre fun for all during half term
Salisbury Playhouse has theatrical treats for all ages in The Salberg during the October half term.
On Monday 24 October audiences can journey through a world filled with boings, whooshes and tick-tocks in Shh… Bang!, a special dance theatre performance for those aged 3 and over.
Joseph Coelho unravels familiar fairytales to create fresh contemporary classics in two enchanting performances of Fairytales Gone Bad. Zombie-rella and Blood Red Hood (Tuesday 25 October) are aimed at those aged 6 and over while Grannylocks and The Monstrous Duckling (Wednesday 26 October) are perfect for those aged 3 plus.
On Saturday 29 October The Owl and the Pussycat’s Treasury of Nonsense presents Lear’s most loved poems in a delightfully unpredictable way using clowning, puppetry and music.
Young people can spend a day during half term working with theatre professionals to create a Play in a Day which will be performed to friends and family in the afternoon (Thursday 27 October for those aged 5-7 years and Friday 28 October for those aged 8-11 years).
Salisbury Playhouse will this season be celebrating 40 years in its Malthouse Lane home with a FREE Open Day on Saturday 29 October. It will throw open its doors so visitors can take a look behind the scenes at the extensive on-site production facilities, celebrate its history and take a glimpse at what the future may hold.
