Donations help refurbish The Salberg
Salisbury Playhouse is delighted to announce the refurbishment programme of its smaller auditorium, The Salberg, has been successfully completed, along with improved access facilities in the main foyer.
Following a fundraising campaign the theatre has upgraded The Salberg and installed automatic foyer entrance doors as part of its ongoing plans to ensure Salisbury Playhouse remains a top-class venue for audiences and artists.
New seating offers greater flexibility in terms of the configuration of The Salberg and improves accessibility for wheelchair users. Improvements to the insulation ensure The Salberg is more comfortable for audiences and performers and new lighting and sound equipment has been installed.
Generous donations were received from funders including £140,000 from Arts Council England, £15,000 from The Hills Group Limited and £20,000 from The Cleansing Service Group Ltd. Money has been made available through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF) which is administered for The Hills Group and The Cleansing Service Group by Community First, the Rural Community Council for Wiltshire.
Salisbury Playhouse would also like to thank Frank and Elizabeth Brenan, Charles Hart, The Holliday Foundation, Paul and Sue Halliden, The Walter Guinness Charitable Trust and Wiltshire Council who kindly supported this project.
